Team up with Jedinak
Signing Milligan would see the experienced midfielder hit the ground running at Villa Park as he would team up alongside Australia teammate Mile Jedinak in the middle of the park.
The duo did not partner each other at the Confederations Cup this summer after 32-year-old Jedinak suffered a fresh groin injury, which is a problem that has hampered his progress throughout the season at Villa Park.
But if Milligan does sign for Villa in the summer, the duo already know each other very well and their presence in Villa’s midfield would fortify Bruce’s defence ahead of the 2017-18 campaign.
