Leeds United are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Stuttgart playmaker Alexandru Maxim – and fans of the club are excited at the possibility he could join.
Romanian outlet Digi Sport claim that the Championship giants are “very close” to securing the transfer of the 26-year-old after negotiations intensified.
The digital publication claim that Maxim is keen on a new challenge and will make a decision about his future when he returns from his current holiday.
Leeds fans are torn between delight at the prospect of a proven Bundesliga player moving to Elland Road and wanting to find out more information about his pedigree.
Some supporters also claimed that interest in Maxim is proof that Garry Monk’s former number two Pep Clotet could be staying on under the new management regime.

Clotet was on the Leeds coaching staff when they were strongly linked with a move for Maxim during the January transfer window after he lost his regular starting spot at Bundesliga second-tier outfit Stuttgart.
The playmaker, who often operates on the left wing, began the recently completed domestic season in the Stuttgart side but was in and out of the team from October onwards.
Maxim made 27 appearances in all competitions with a return of five goals and seven assists.
The 27-times Romania international has an eyecatching record both in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 for Stuttgart, scoring 17 goals and supplying a highly impressive 35 assists from 131 matches for the club.
His record in the German top tier also stands out, with 91 games yielding 11 goals and 25 assists.
Leeds have already signed one player this summer in winger Hadi Sacko, who loan move from Sporting Lisbon was converted into a permanent transfer last week at a reported cost of £1.7million.
