Jorge Grant has signed a new three-year deal at Nottingham Forest, it was confirmed on Monday.

Forest announced the news on their official website and in a message on their official Twitter account.

The 22-year-old midfielder’s new deal ties him to the City Ground until 2020.

He joined the Forest academy in the summer of 2013 from the Nike academy, and he has since made 20 appearances in all competitions for the club.

The midfielder struggled to break into the first team at Forest last term, and featured only six times in the Championship before he was farmed out on loan to club rivals Notts County.

Grant arrived at Meadow Lane in February and he quickly became a key player for the League Two club, scoring six goals in 17 league outings, as well as providing three assists.

The 22-year-old was deployed by County manager Kevin Nolan in a number of roles across his midfield, which saw him played in central midfield and on both wings.

This comes after the Nottingham Post reported last month that Forest had offered Grant a new three-year contract, in a bid to ward off interest from County, who wanted to secure a permanent deal for the player.
