Chelsea are plotting a move for Napoli forward Lorenzo Insigne this summer, according to the Sun.

The newspaper claims that the Premier League champions are expecting La Liga giants Real Madrid to make a massive offer of around £90million+ for winger Eden Hazard this summer, and they believe that the 26-year-old would be the perfect replacement.

The Sun claims that the West London club have offered the Belgian a new contract worth £300,000-a-week but Hazard has still not put pen to paper on the deal.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly so concerned about the Hazard situation that he has already contacted Insigne’s people about a potential move this summer – and the forward is currently valued at £45million.

Conte has already coached the Napoli man during his two-year spell as the Italy national team head coach.

The report also claims that Chelsea are willing to pay Insigne £200,000-a-week to join the club this summer – the Italian is currently earning half of this figure with the Serie A club.

Insigne was one of the star performers in the Italian top flight last season as he made 49 appearances in all competitions and he contributed with 20 goals and 12 assists.

The Italian’s current contract at Napoli expires in the summer of 2022.
