Nuno Wolves interview goes well

|

Nuno Espirito Santo underwent a positive talks with Wolves on Saturday, according to reliable journalist Goncalo Lopes.

The Portuguese reported claimed on his personal Twitter account that “the interview went well” for the ex-Porto boss.

The Mirror have previously reported that Wolves are lining up the 43-year-old to replace Paul Lambert as manager as the former Aston Villa boss has been left aggravated by his lack of control on transfers.

It is understood that Lambert has fears about how super-agent Jorge Mendes has too much of a strangehold on any potential dealings and that the club’s Chinese owners Fosun have rejected his plans to bring in British targets Tammy Abraham, Grant Hanley and Tom Lawrence.

Nuno is a client of Mendes and is looking for a job after he was sacked by European giants Porto earlier this week after he failed to win any silverware in his debut season.

He began his management career with Rio Ave and earned a lot of plaudits when he took them to the Europa League for the first time in their history thanks to appearances in the Portuguese Cup and League Cup finals.

The ex-goalkeeper then spent a year at Valencia before moving back to Portugal in 2016.

Reliablie journalist Lopes works for Portuguese news outlet Diario de Noticias and sparked talks of Nuno’s potential arrival at Molineux earlier this week.
