Kieran Tierney has claimed that he suffered a broken jaw in Celtic’s Scottish Cup triumph against Aberdeen on Saturday.

The left-back, 19, had to be substituted off in the first half after being on the receiving a forceful blow from Jayden Stockley’s flailing arm.

Aberdeen’s Stockley escaped any kind of punishment from the referee but the Celtic player was visibly rocked after the blow, as blood was seen pouring out of his mouth and he took to his personal Twitter account after the game to joke that he is only bothered about the silverware.

“Worth a broken jaw,” said Tierney on Twitter, next to pictures of him holding the Scottish Cup with teammates Scott Brown and Patrick Roberts.

Brendan Rodgers masterminded a 2-1 victory over the Dons who opened the scoring in the ninth minute through Jonny Hayes.

However Stuart Armstrong levelled just two minutes later before Tom Rogic scored a last-gasp winner in stoppage time to secure an unbeaten domestic campaign and the Scottish treble.

Tierney has been a key part in Rodgers’ plans in his first term in Glasgow and has played 40 times across all competitions.

The three-times Scotland international has been among the goals by scoring two of his own and also supplying 12 assists – eight of which came in the Scottish Premiership.
