Sevilla enter Onyekuru race

|

Celtic’s tangled attempts to sign Henry Onyekuru face a further threat from Sevilla.

According to a report in The Sun the Spanish side are keen to take the Eupen striker to La Liga.

Celtic had a bid in the region of £1m turned down by the Belgian side with claims that Onyekuru went on strike in a bid to force through a move to Celtic.

With a variety of agents involved it seemed that Eupen were keen to sell their top scorer to either RB Leipzig or CSKA Moscow.

Onyekuru scored 11 goals before Christmas on the back of Eupen’s promotion last season but the goals have dried up since the transfer saga started including a brief fall out when the Nigerian went on strike.

Sevilla’s emergence is a major threat to Celtic’s hopes of bringing the striker to Glasgow although the profile that the club has given Moussa Dembele is certain to prove a big attraction.
