Arsenal are leading the chase for outstanding young French goalkeeper Alban Lafont.
According to a report in The Sun the Toulouse keeper is also being watched by Lazio and Watford.
Lafont was given his chance at the start of the season and held down a top team place despite only turning 18 in January.
Arsene Wenger has an extensive scouting network across France and was quickly alerted to the rapid pace of Lafont’s development.
Petr Cech’s form is causing some concern for Wenger with the hunt on for a younger replacement to move into the team.
Whether an 18-year-old could step into the pressure of playing at the top of the Premier League is the big question but the same questions were asked when Lafont was breaking into the Toulouse side.
With Arsenal’s strong French links Lafont shouldn’t take much time to settle if he moved to London with Toulouse expecting their keeper to move on in the summer.
