Liverpool are preparing a summer move for Franck Kessie.
A report in The Mail picks up on speculation from an Italian newspaper that Jurgen Klopp is interested in the Atalanta teenager.
The report claims that Liverpool are putting together an£18.5m bid for the powerful midfielder and a salary package of £2.1m per year.
Kessie made a big impression last season on loan with Serie B side Cesena and has continued that form on his return to Atalanta.
With 10 caps for the Ivory Coast he has picked up a lot of experience ahead of his 20th birthday later this month.
Klopp is keen to get ahead of the game when it comes to recruitment and hopes that the lure of Anfield and hopefully Champions League football can attract Kessie.
Juventus are also looking at Kessie with Atalanta hoping to avoid a January sale but resigned to the player leaving at the end of this season if he retains his current form.
