According to reports from The Express, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur are battling it out to sign Schalke star Roman Neustadter on a free transfer.
The German international has registered over 150 appearances for the Miners but looks set to leave the Bundesliga outfit on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season, with recent talks over an extended deal reportedly stalling.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Arsenal are targeting the versatile defensive ace – who can operate as a holding midfielder, a centre-half or a full-back – ahead of the summer transfer window. But according to The Express, who cite reports from German publication SportBild, Tottenham Hotspur are also chasing the 28-year-old.
But the north London rivals aren’t alone in the battle to acquire Neustadter’s services on a free transfer. Inter Milan have also been linked with the 6 foot 2 star and the Serie A outfit’s interest is documented once again by SportBild.
