According to reports from Fichajes, Chelsea and Liverpool have tabled lucrative offers for Manchester United strike target Gonzalo Higuain.
The Napoli star has netted 27 times across all competitions this term, scoring the joint-most league goals (25) of any player involved in Europe’s five leading top flights.
A number of Premier League clubs were chasing the Argentina international last summer but the Italian outfit insisted any suitor would have to activate his £67million release clause.

They may have better luck in the coming transfer window, however, with Higuain’s contract entering its final two years and the South American hitman reportedly unlikely to sign a new deal – in no small part due to heavy interest in his services from the Premier League.
Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport report that Manchester United are prepared to pay £62million to sign the 2014 World Cup finalist in the summer, but Fichajes claim Chelsea, Liverpool and PSG have already put lucrative offers on the table.
However, the Spanish publication warns that Napoli would still expect Higuain’s release clause to be met in full, which some suitors will struggle to justify for a 28-year-old striker.
