According to reports from The Daily Mail, Manchester City are leading Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United in the race to sign Borussia Dortmund star Ilkay Gundogan during the summer transfer window.
The 25-year-old is widely regarded as one of the top central midfielders in world football, winning the Bundesliga title in 2012 and reaching the Champions League final a year later, and Dortmund are set to sell this summer with just over twelve months remaining on his contract.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United were all mooted as potential suitors last month amid news of the Black-Yellows looking to cash in, having been linked with the German international’s services last summer when his contract, once again, had just twelve months remaining.
According to The Daily Mail, however, Manchester City are the current front-runners in the race to sign Gundogan. Dortmund recently rebuffed rumours that he’d already agreed a summer transfer to the Etihad, but the creative centre-mid is reportedly enticed by the prospect of playing under Pep Guardiola next season.
Barcelona and Juventus have also expressed an interest in signing the 16-cap international.
