According to reports from The Metro, Arsenal and Liverpool strike target Alexandre Lacazette has confirmed he wants a summer transfer to the Premier League.

After bagging 31 goals across all competitions last season to claim Ligue 1’s Player of the Year award, the France international was linked with a number of Premier League clubs during the 2015 summer transfer window – including Arsenal and Manchester United.

He eventually rejected Premier League advances to sign a four-year contract extension at Stade de Gerland but has since struggled to rekindle the same level of form, finding just 13 goals from 26 Ligue 1 outings, partly due to the uncertainty surrounding his contract situation at the start of the season.

Nonetheless, the France international remains in the thoughts of English clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, with The Metro reporting interest from Arsenal and Liverpool – both of whom are expected to target added firepower during the offseason.

And the 24-year-old has confirmed that he is interested in a summer transfer to the English top flight during a recent interview with Le10Sport. As quoted by The Metro, he said; “A departure? Yes, I think the Premier League is a very attractive for a player.

“But I know that to go, I have to play well this season. So I’m very focused and perhaps after that, I will leave. I know it’s possible to go in the Premier League and Lyon is also aware.”

Lacazette made similar claims during the January transfer window.
