Antonio Conte

According to The Telegraph, England international Kieran Gibbs is likely to leave Arsenal during the summer transfer window; whilst The Express report that Antonio Conte is set to become Chelsea manager in a £18million deal.

Gibbs has found himself stuck behind fellow left-back Nacho Monreal in the pecking order over the last twelve months, managing just two Premier League starts so far this season, and The Telegraph claim his nine years in north London could be brought to an end during the summer transfer window.

The Gunners are set to reignite their long-term interest in Leicester City’s prodigious No.3 Ben Chilwell, whilst Hull City’s Andrew Robertson has been mooted as an alternative summer target, and that will ‘likely’ see the England defender leave the club, alongside fellow expected departures Mathieu Debuchy, Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky in a significant summer overhaul at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, The Express – who cite reports from The Sun – claim Chelsea are on the verge of announcing Antonio Conte as their next manager in a three-year deal worth around £18million. His representatives have spent the weekend in London negotiating a contract and Roman Abramovich is set to ‘rubberstamp’ the appointment upon meeting the Italian gaffer on one of his yachts.

The 46-year-old, who lead Juventus to three Serie A titles before guiding Italy through qualifying for Euro 2016, hopes to have confirmation before Azzurri face Spain and Germany in friendlies at the end of March.
