Havard Nordtveit

According to reports from The Daily Mail, Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham target Havard Nordtveit has confirmed he’s moving to the Premier League on a free transfer.

The 25-year-old has registered 143 Bundesliga appearances for Borussia Monchengladbach since signing from Arsenal in 2011, where he regularly captained the Gunners’ reserve squad, but has now confirmed he’ll be leaving the German outfit when his contract expires at the end of the season.

A number of Premier League clubs have been linked with a Bosman deal for the Norway international over the last few months, including Arsenal, Liverpool and most recently West Ham, whilst The Daily Mail also document interest from Borussia Dortmund, Schalke and Atletico Madrid.

Nordtveit and Gladbach have both confirmed that he will be returning to the Premier League during the summer transfer window. An official club statement read; “Havard Nordtveit is leaving Borussia in the summer after five and half years. The Norwegian’s contract is expiring at the end of the season, with Borussia not prolonging it as he goes to England.”

Likewise, the utility man – who has operated as a full-back, a centre-half and a defensive midfielder throughout his career – told the club’s website; “I’d like to leave it to my new team to announce, which we’ve agreed with regards to the current situation. I can say, however, that I’m going back to England. England is the big goal for every footballer in Norway and I’d like to try it out.”

Nordtveit’s next club remains unconfirmed but The Daily Mail believe it is West Ham, after claiming last week that the East Londoners were ‘finalising‘ a deal to sign the 6 foot 2 ace. However, the British newspaper’s reports have proved wide of the mark before – so This Is Futbol aren’t ruling anything out just yet.
