Chelsea and Liverpool were both linked with the England U19 during the summer and have continued to monitor his development throughout the season according to The Express.
But to protect the teenage midfielder’s future in north London, Tottenham have now issued him a contract extension for the second time in just seven months. Onomah signed a deal until 2019 in July but has now agreed new terms until 2020.
Upon signing his latest contract, the Enfield-born starlet – who has appeared on the bench in 15 out of Spurs’ last 21 games in all competitions – told the club’s official website; “It’s a dream come true. Since I was a youngster it was my dream to play for Tottenham, so I’ve got to get my head down and carry on working.
“This shows that if you work hard you’ll get the rewards. Thanks to the gaffer. He trusts me, puts me in tough games and has given me minutes. I thank him, the fans and everyone else around me for their support.”
