Joshua Onomah

According to reports from The Express this afternoon, Tottenham Hotspur have offered prodigious youngster Joshua Onomah a new contract at White Hart Lane.

The teenage midfielder is highly-rated by the north London club’s hierarchy and even made it onto the Spurs bench for their FA Cup third round tie against Burnley back in January.

He also comes with a strong reputation at youth international level, boasting 25 caps for England across the junior age groups – ranging from U16 to U18 – and featuring prominently as the U17s claimed the European Championship in Malta last summer.

According to The Express, Premier League trio Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City are all keen on the Enfield-born 18 year-old, sensing an opportunity to snap up a promising home-grown talent on the cheap with his contract set to expire at the end of next season.

But Spurs view him as a potential future star for the first team and are hoping to fend off interest by tying Onomah down to a long-term contract.
