Attacking Midfield - Wayne Rooney

According to London Evening Standard, goalkeeper David Ospina is ready to leave Arsenal in the summer; whilst Mirror Football report that a Chinese Super League club have launched a £27million bid for Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney.

Ospina earned a move to the Emirates in two summers ago after impressing with Colombia at the 2014 World Cup and produced a series of prominent displays last season after overtaking No.1 duties from Wojciech Szczesny.

But the 27-year-old has made just four appearances across all competitions since Petr Cech’s arrival last summer and fearing that he should be playing regularly at this point in his career, is now reportedly determined to leave the north London club during the coming transfer window.

London Evening Standard claim Arsenal would expect around £5million for the 6-foot shot-stopper, who is already attracting interest from Getafe, Besiktas, Genoa and Palermo – but would be open to staying in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Mirror Football report that a Chinese Super League club – believed to be Shanghai Shenhua – have launched a £27million bid for Manchester United skipper Wayne Rooney with a view to completing the potential transfer at the end of the season.

They’re also prepared to pay him £500k per week wages in a package that would amount to a whopping £100million. The Red Devils have insisted they’ve not received an offer from any club for the 30-year-old forward, but reports earlier this week claimed they are open to the idea of selling him during the summer transfer window.

A host of high-profile names have moved to the Chinese Super League in recent weeks – including former Arsenal star, Inter Milan midfielder Fredy Guarin, Atletico Madrid striker Jackson Martinez, Shakhtar Donetsk attacker Alex Teixeira and PSG forward Ezequiel Lavezzi.

Former England boss Sven Goran Eriksson, now in charge of Shanghai SIPG, has claimed it’s only a matter of time before a player of Rooney’s calibre follows suit.
