According to reports from Sky Sports, Edinson Cavani’s father wants the PSG striker to seal a transfer away from Parc de Princes this summer – with Manchester United a preferred destination.
The Uruguay international boasts 71 goals in 128 appearances for the Parisians, including a strike against Chelsea in the Champions League on Tuesday night and 31 goals across all competitions last season.
But the 29-year-old has often vented his frustration at playing a secondary role to lone frontman Zlatan Ibrahimovic, often deployed out wide instead, and manager Laurent Blanc not-so-subtly hinted last month that he’d be prepared to part with him at the end of the season.

Chelsea are believed to have held talks with the 6-foot striker regarding a potential transfer to Stamford Bridge and are now preparing a ‘huge’ contract offer, whilst Arsenal are known long-term admirers and almost struck a deal last summer.
But Cavani’s father, Luis Cavani, would prefer to see his son ply his trade with Manchester United – who are already reportedly considering a bid for the summer transfer window.
As quoted by Sky Sports, Cavani senior recently told Israeli TV station Sport5; “Zlatan is not willing to play on the wings. So they gave up on Edinson. PSG themselves. Edinson is suffering at PSG. If they let him play as the No 9 he will be happy. I would like to see him play for Real Madrid, Manchester United or Juventus.”
