According to reports from Corriere Dello Sport, AC Milan are hoping to tie goalkeeping sensation Gianluigi Donnarumma down to a long-term contract amid transfer interest from Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and Barcelona.

The Italian prospect is just 16 years of age but has already muscled former Real Madrid star Diego Lopez out of the starting line-up to become Rossoneri’s No.1, recording 39 saves and six clean sheets from 17 Serie A outings this season.

The Italy U17’s sensational rise has not gone unnoticed by the Premier League. Rumours of a €40million summer bid from Manchester United emerged in January and Manchester City have been accredited with interest as well, whilst Chelsea goalkeeper Marco Amelia recently revealed that Donnarumma is very much in the thoughts of coaches and scouts at Stamford Bridge.

But Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport bring some bad news for the Premier League trio. First of all, Barcelona are also now a fixture in the race to sign the 6 foot 5 shot-stopper – who agent Mino Raiola has valued at a whopping £119million – after scouting him against Genoa last Sunday. Secondly, Milan are hoping to fend off interest from all four parties by issuing Donnarumma a long-term contract.

The teenager’s current terms expire in 2018 – meaning they’d have to seriously consider offers during the summer – but the San Siro outfit hope to agree a new five-year deal. Due to the goalkeeper’s age, however, it will only come into effect after his 18th birthday in February 2017.
