According to The Telegraph, Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao is hoping to secure a last-minute return to Atletico Madrid; whilst The Express report that Manchester United youngster Nick Powell is set to sign for Hull City on loan.

The Colombian international has scored just one goal since moving to Stamford Bridge in a loan deal from Monaco last summer and hasn’t registered an appearance in any competition since October due to injury.

Chelsea are keen to get the flopped striker off their books and although a move to China was mooted last week, The Telegraph claim Falcao has travelled to Spain today to try and force through a last-minute switch to former club Atletico Madrid.

Before his £54million move to Monaco in summer 2013, the 29-year-old bagged 70 goals in 91 appearances for Diego Simeone’s side.

Meanwhile, The Express report that Manchester United youngster Nick Powell is set to join Championship outfit Hull City on loan for the remainder of the season.

Manager Steve Bruce admitted his interest in the 21-year-old last week, telling reporters; “Yes, he’s somebody who interests us – I’ve liked Nick from the first time I saw him when he played for Crewe,” and negotiations over a loan move reportedly took place over the weekend.

The deal is yet to be confirmed but the midfielder-come-forward is believed to have undergone a medical at the KC Stadium earlier today. Powell’s Old Trafford contract expires at the end of the season, so he may have played his last game for United.
