According to reports from London Evening Standard, Lille manager Frederic Antonelli has warned that Sofiane Boufal must improve his performances to earn a transfer to Arsenal, Manchester United or Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
The 22-year-old has emerged as one of the French top flight’s most exciting talents since moving to Stade Pierre-Mauroy in January 2015. He’s bagged seven goals and two assists in 21 Ligue 1 outings this season, whilst his direct dribbling style (averaging four take-ons per match this term) has drawn comparisons with former Lille star Eden Hazard.

Sporting director Jean-Michel Vandamme has already admitted the French club will struggle to hold onto their prodigious winger this summer amid interest from Premier League trio Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur.
But according to London Evening Standard, who also moot PSG as potential suitors, manager Frederic Antonelli has warned Boufal that his performances must improve if he wants to join one of Europe’s leading clubs.
As quoted by LES, he recently told Le10Sport; “If the rumours disturb us, they can disturb even more a young player. Of course, he is destined to have a great career. We just need to find out if it will be for a top European club or not. If he wants to join one of the best 8 clubs, he must improve his performances.
“It’s always better to move to one of these teams when you are ready, otherwise you risk just watching the others play [from the sidelines], and you don’t improve that way.”
