According to reports from Mirror Football, Tottenham Hotspur are leading Everton, West Ham and four more Premier League clubs in the race to sign Gent striker Laurent Depoitre.

A number of Jupiler League products have impressed upon moving to the Premier League in recent years, ranging from Manchester City’s Vincent Kompany to West Ham’s Cheikhou Kouyate, and at least seven English clubs are analysing whether the 27-year-old can have a similar effect.

Indeed, scouts from Crystal Palace, Everton, Leicester City, Southampton, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham and West Brom ran the rule over the £12million-rated striker as the Belgian outfit faced Wolfsburg in the Champions League last Tuesday.

But according to Mirror Football, Spurs are currently leading the pack in the race to sign the £12million-rated striker. Gent are almost certain to sell this summer, with Depoitre’s contract set to expire in 16 months time.
