Bazoer

According to reports from Mirror Football, Chelsea face competition from Arsenal, Barcelona and Manchester City in the race to sign Ajax sensation Riechedly Bazoer.

The 19-year-old is widely regarded as one of the most promising talents in the Eredivisie, earning comparisons with the legendary Frank Rijkaard and even muscling his way into the Netherlands national team.

The midfielder, who has bagged three goals and four assists in 20 league outings this season, has been attracting interest from Europe’s top clubs for some time.

Indeed, he’s been on Arsenal’s radar for over three years and The Express have documented their interest once again, whilst Mirror Football moot Barcelona and Manchester City as potential suitors as well.

But it appears Chelsea are taking the initiative in the race to sign the £24million-rated teenager, with Mirror Football even dubbing him a ‘priority target’ for the west London outfit.

They reportedly opened talks with Ajax regarding a summer transfer earlier this month and it’s now claimed that brother and agent Irchandley Bazoer was at Chelsea’s training complex, Cobham, on Friday to hold further discussions.

Guus Hiddink could play a key role in bringing Bazoer to Stamford Bridge. He oversaw the youngster’s development whilst working as technical director at PSV and also advised Danny Blind, his successor as Netherlands manager, to issue him an inaugural cap in October.

However, it’s believed the 6-foot centre-mid would prefer a summer transfer to the Nou Camp.
