According to reports from The Daily Mail this morning, Arsenal are interested in signing Ajax midfielder Riechedly Bazoer.
The 19 year-old made his Eredivise debut last season and went on to score once in 22 appearances across all competitions for the Amsterdam outfit during the 2014/15 campaign.
But the central midfielder has really made his impression felt this term, featuring in all eight games amid Ajax’s rise to the division’s summit and bagging two assists in the process. He’s also averaged an impressive 1.9 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, 1.5 shots and 1.3 created chances per match.
According to The Mail, Bazoer first came to Arsenal’s attention three years ago but he opted to continue his development in Holland instead.
The north London outfit have continued to monitor his progress from afar and are now keen to revive their interest after the teenage centre-mid received a surprise call-up to Danny Blind’s Netherlands squad for the latest round of Euro 2016 qualifiers.
He’s yet to claim an inaugural senior cap but has represented Oranje 31 times at youth level.
