Morata

According to reports from The Metro and The Express, Manchester United have joined Arsenal and Liverpool in the race to sign Juventus striker Alvaro Morata.

The Spain international bagged 15 goals in 46 appearances during his debut campaign with the Old Lady last season – helping fire them to the 2015 Champions League final by providing five goals in Europe.

But he’s fallen behind summer arrivals Mario Mandzukic and Paolo Dybala in the pecking order this season and has resultantly found just one goal in 18 Serie A appearances, only eight of which have been starts.

That has lead to rumours of Arsenal launching a summer swoop for the 23-year-old, whilst Liverpool are reportedly in talks over a club-record £45million deal.

But according to The Metro and The Express – who both cite Italian publication TuttoSport – Manchester United are also keen on the 6 foot 2 frontman, whose contract includes a £61million release clause.

However, the Premier League trio could find themselves beaten to Morata’s signature by former employers Real Madrid. The deal that saw him leave the Bernabeu for Turin in summer 2014 is believed to have included a £23million buy-back clause.
