According to BBC Sport, Nacho Monreal has signed a long-term contract with Arsenal; whilst Calcio Mercato report that Fiorentina are targeting West Ham striker Mauro Zarate.
Monreal joined the Emirates ranks in January 2013 and after initially struggling to impress has made the left-back slot his own this season – starting in all but one of the Gunners’ 22 Premier League fixtures.
Arsenal are yet to reveal the length of the Spain international’s new deal but it has been described by BBC Sport and Sky Sports as a ‘long-term contract’.
Upon putting pen to paper, the 29-year-old said; “I met the boss (Arsene Wenger) three years ago and I have a really good relationship with him and I’m really happy with him. For these reasons I extended my contract.”

Meanwhile, Calcio Mercato report that Fiorentina are hoping to replace departing striker Giuseppe Rossi – once of Manchester United fame – with West Ham forward Mauro Zarate.
The 28-year-old is often praised for his technical quality but has managed just 22 Premier League appearances since moving to Upton Park in summer 2014, scoring five times in the process, and is now into the final 18 months of his contract.
Fiorentina are reportedly interested in acquiring the Argentine this month but face competition from La Liga outfits Malaga, Sevilla and Real Betis.
