According to reports from The Express, PSG manager Laurent Blanc has admitted he’s ‘annoyed’ by midfielder Adrien Rabiot requesting a loan move for the January window.
The 6 foot 2 defensive midfielder is one of French football’s most exciting prospects, having claimed 47 youth caps for France and made nearly 100 appearances for PSG at just 20 years of age.
But mother and agent Veronique Rabiot reportedly made a transfer request on her son’s behalf during the summer due to a lack of game-time and the issue has cropped up again this week – despite the France U21 making eight Ligue 1 starts this season and featuring twice in the Champions League.
Rabiot, who is a reported target of Arsenal, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur alongside several clubs from Serie A, recently told French publication L’Equipe; “I’ve asked the president for a loan move in January if my time on the field is insufficient. It’s something that he can’t refuse me – I know he likes me very much.”
And Parc de Princes gaffer Laurent Blanc has now revealed his reaction to the prodigious midfielder’s unexpected claim. Speaking ahead of PSG’s Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk this evening, he said; “It annoys me. Adrien has to understand that when you have the possibility of going at the end of your contract and to leave for free, you can do it. Otherwise, when you sign a contract of five years with PSG, you have to respect your first club.”
