According to reports from the News Shopper, Tottenham Hotspur are continuing to monitor Ebbsfleet United prodigy Shilow Tracey, whilst The Guardian report that Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has dismissed rumours of a loan move for Steven Gerrard in January.

Highly-rated 17 year-old Tracey spent last week on trial with the Lilywhites and has now returned to Ebbsfleet, who are currently six points clear at the top of the National League South.

But the North London outfit remain interested in the midfielder and will continue to monitor his progress, with another trial potentially on the cards. Spurs representatives will be in attendance next Tuesday when Tracey receives a run-out in the FA Youth Cup.

Meanwhile, Liverpool gaffer Jurgen Klopp has ruled out signing club legend Steven Gerrard on loan in January. The former England skipper left his boyhood club for MLS outfit LA Galaxy during the summer, after 17 incredible seasons at Anfield.

The 35 year-old currently finds himself in the MLS off-season and Klopp has confirmed that he’ll be allowed to train at Melwood until Galaxy’s pre-season commences in January – an arrangement he inherited from predecessor Brendan Rodgers. But the Liverpool boss also sought to deny reports claiming the club are working on a loan deal for the veteran midfielder.

As quoted by The Guardian, he said; “I had contact with Stevie. We had one phone call and a few messages and of course I think I said the doors are always open. Stevie is a legend at this club and if he’s here in Liverpool and he’s young and healthy enough to want to train that is absolutely no problem. Nothing else – he didn’t ask (about playing) so I don’t have to think about it. He is an LFC legend and our doors are always open.”
