Pione Sisto

According to a Calcio Mercato exclusive, Pione Sisto’s agent has confirmed ‘the best European clubs’ and several Serie A clubs are interested in signing the rumoured Arsenal and Manchester City target.

The 20 year-old’s exceptional form last term saw him pick up the Player of the Year award in Denmark and fire FC Midtjyland to their first ever league title – scoring and assisting during a trophy-clinching win over FC Kobenhavn on the final day of the season.

That attracted interest from Arsenal and Barcelona during the summer transfer window but the 5 foot 7 attacker decided to continue his development at the MCH Arena for another year.

Since then, however, the attacking midfielder has made his senior debut for Denmark and transitioned his exceptional domestic form to continental level, bagging one goal from two Europa League outings this season whilst completing five successful dribbles per match – the highest average of any player involved in the competition.

Scouts from Everton, West Ham and Manchester City all watched Sisto score against Club Brugge last month but it appears interest in the two-cap international stems beyond the Premier League.

During an interview with Calcio Mercato, the wonderkid’s agent has revealed that ‘the best European clubs’ and several Serie A sides are also monitoring his progress.

Representative Jonas Ankerson told the Italian football website; “He has amazing qualities and some of the top European clubs are chasing him. The best European clubs want him, including the Italians, of course. I can only say that some Italian clubs shown their interest for Pione Sisto, but I can’t go any further.

“He’s one of those players who can decide the games,” the agent added. “He creates goal attempts and has a very good one-to-one dribbling. He is skilled but also very committed, he always work hard, giving his best for the team.”

Ankerson was speaking ahead of FC Midtjyland’s Europa League clash with Napoli at Stadio San Paolo this evening.
