Lucas Biglia

According to reports from talkSPORT on Tuesday, Valencia have entered the race to sign Arsenal and Manchester United midfield target Lucas Biglia.

The 29 year-old has made 53 Serie A appearances since moving to Stadio Olympico from Anderlecht in summer 2013 and also featured prominently for Argentina at last summer’s World Cup – starting in the tournament’s final as Albiceleste lost 1-0 to Germany.

Reports from September claim Manchester United could launch a January swoop for Biglia amid a contract dispute with Lazio, particularly regarding wages, with his current deal set to expire in 2018. Arsenal, meanwhile, are never too far away from being linked with an experienced defensive midfielder.

According to talkSPORT however, the Premier League title contenders now face competition for the 5 foot 10 enforcer’s signature from Valencia.

Citing reports from Italian publication Il Tempo, they claim Los Che have expressed an interest in bringing Biglia to the Mestalla and are prepared to offer him a significant pay rise to do so.
