Gokhan Tore

According to reports from talkSPORT yesterday evening, Arsenal and Newcastle United are both targeting former Chelsea youngster Gokhan Tore.

The explosive winger spent two years in the Blues’ academy but failed to make the first team grade, eventually leaving for Hamburg in 2011 without making a competitive appearance at senior level.

The 23 year-old has since emerged as a very exciting prospect, however, bagging 15 goals in 85 appearances for current club Besiktas – including a return of two in nine this season – and playing a pivotal role as they finished third in last season’s Super Lig title race.

According to talkSPORT, the Turkey international’s rapid development during his two seasons at the Vodafone Arena has attracted interest from Arsenal and Newcastle, who are both keen to bring him back to the Premier League.

Citing reports from Turkish news outlet Bugun, the radio station’s website claims Tore is rated at around the £15million mark. But Besiktas are far more open to selling the winger at the end of the season rather than during the January transfer window.
