According to reports from The Daily Star yesterday evening, Liverpool are scouting PSG prodigy Odsonne Edouardi, whilst Goal reveal Carlo Ancelotti wanted to sign Robert Lewandowski during his reign as Chelsea boss.

Citing reports from Le Parisian, The Star claim Liverpool sent scouts to run the rule over Edouardi, aged 17, during a recent UEFA Youth League clash with Malmo. They also had representatives present at the U17 World Cup in May, where the French striker bagged eight goals in just five appearances – including a hat-trick against Germany.

He’s highly-rated at Parc de Princes but could end up leaving on a free transfer. Recent talks over a new contract have broken down and Edouardi’s agent has now requested a meeting with club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi which could determine his future in the French capital.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has revealed in a Goal exclusive that he wanted to sign Robert Lewandowski during his stint in the Stamford Bridge hot seat.

The Italian, currently unemployed after being replaced by Rafa Benitez as Real Madrid gaffer during the summer, told the website; “He’s a player that I have always followed, particularly in the first part of his career, when he was at Borussia Dortmund. Lewandowski was being followed by many clubs, not just me. But even when I was at Chelsea, I was tracking him. Also, while I was at Madrid, but by then he was already going to Bayern, so it was too late.”

The Poland international has been in exceptional form this season, netting 16 times in twelve appearances for the Allianz Arena outfit.
