Right Back - Mathieu Debuchy

According to reports from Sky Sports this afternoon, Arsenal defender and Newcastle United target Mathieu Debuchy is ‘not of interest’ to Serie A champions Juventus.

The Magpies sold the France international to the north London outfit for a £12million fee in summer 2014 and the Tyneside club are reportedly looking to re-sign him.

Debuchy was expected to become the Gunners’ resident right-back but a spate of injury problems combined with the sudden rise of Spain U21 Hector Bellerin has resulted in him make just eleven Premier League appearances since arriving at the Emirates. He’s seen just 67 minutes of league action this season.

It was revealed earlier this week the 30 year-old will ‘review his future in January‘ after missing out on selection in Didier Deschamps’ latest France squad, with his former employers reportedly looking to capitalise on the situation. French big-spenders PSG and Monaco have also been mooted as potential suitors.

Fortunately for the Tynesiders, who are currently rock bottom of the Premier League table, at least one club has ruled themselves out of the running to sign the 26-cap international – Italian champions Juventus.

According to Sky Sports, Debuchy is ‘not of interest’ to the 2015 Champions League finalists, who are apparently not even considering new signings at the moment after recording just eight points from seven games – leaving them in 12th place.

Whether Steve McClaren’s side can fend off interest from the Ligue 1 giants to re-sign the 5 foot 10 full-back, however, remains to be seen.
