Edin Dzeko

According to reports from The Express this morning, Roma have signed Chelsea’s Mohamed Salah and Edin Dzeko permanently.

Both, along with former Tottenham youngster Iago Falque, moved to the Stadio Olympico on loan during the summer.

Front-man Edin Dzeko had bagged 50 goals in 130 league appearances for the Citizens, helping fire them to Premier League titles, despite often featuring from the substitutes bench.

The 29 year-old managed just six goals in all competitions last season, however, as his place in the first team came under threat from £28million January signing Wilfried Bony.

Salah, meanwhile, managed only nine league appearances after moving to Stamford Bridge from FC Basel in January 2014. He joined Fiorentina on loan last season and was meant to extend his deal by another year but opted to sign for Roma instead during the summer window.

And according to The Express, who cite reports from Gazzetta dello Sport, Roma have now acquired both former Premier League stars permanently after the players met ‘contractual obligations’.

A statement on club’s official website said; “Amongst the most important agreements of the 2014/15 summer transfer window is the signing of Dzeko from Manchester City, Salah from Chelsea and (Iago) Falque from Genoa. These players were initially acquired on temporary deals, but those agreements have now become permanent after certain contractual obligations were met.”

Dzeko, a Bosnian international, has scored once in five Serie A appearances this season, whilst Egypt talisman Salah leads Roma’s scoring charts in the league with a return of three from six.
