Leroy Sane

According to reports from SportBild and Calcio Mercato, Premier League duo Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are both targeting Schalke starlet Leroy Sane.

The 19 year-old has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season, bagging three goals and one assist in seven Bundesliga appearances – only two of which have been starts. He’s also recorded the fourth-best dribbling return in the division; an impressive 3.3 successful take-ons per match.

Earlier this week, Italian publication Calcio Mercato revealed that Tottenham are considering a move for the Germany U21, having already enriched their squad with a pair of promising Bundesliga additions during the summer in Heung Son Min and Kevin Wimmer.

But SportBlid claim that Liverpool are also targeting the young forward – and in fact launched a failed €15million bid for him during the summer transfer window.

They believe the Reds will ‘start a new run’ for Sane in 2016, although fail to mention whether it will be in January or at the end of next season.

Either way, Schalke are unlikely to see without a huge fee involved, having extended the prodigious attacker’s Veltins Arena contract to 2019 in July.
