Mattia-Destro

According to reports from The Express this afternoon, Roma are ready to sell in-demand striker Mattia Destro for just £6.3million.

The 24 year-old is regarded as one of Serie A’s more exciting attacking prospects, having already registered eight caps for Italy and bagged 24 goals in 57 appearances throughout his three-term Roma career – in addition to netting thrice on loan at AC Milan in the second half of last season.

Premier League trio Arsenal, Aston Villa and West Ham were all linked to the 5 foot 10 front-man last month, amid reports claiming the Stadio Olympico outfit would look to cash-in on him after securing the services of Manchester City’s Edin Dzeko.

They agreed a £14million fee for the Bosnian international yesterday afternoon, which has escalated reports of Destro’s imminent departure.

And according to The Express, Roma are willing to part with the former Genoa and Siena man for just £6.3million – a bargain price compared to some of the other deals that have taken place this summer.

But if any of his Premier League suitors are interested, they’ll have to act quickly; the British tabloid claim Bologna are leading the pack to complete a deal for that exact fee.
