Pedro - £7million

According to reports from Goal yesterday afternoon, Manchester United have agreed a fee with Barcelona for in-demand winger Pedro.

The 27 year-old, whose CV boasts three Champions League titles, five La Liga titles, the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship, has been expected to leave the Nou Camp for some time after slumping behind Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar in the pecking order last season.

Rumours of his availability have triggered plenty of interest in the Premier League, with Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all linked to his services over the last few weeks.

But the Old Trafford outfit have always been seen as the front-runners in the race to sign the Spain international and reports earlier this week claimed they’ve already agreed personal terms – a five-year contract worth £17.5million in total.

On Tuesday came news that Manchester United’s opening bid was around £2million short of Pedro’s £22million release clause.

But according to Goal, they’ve now come to an agreement with Barcelona; £18million up front with a further £4.2million in potential add-ons.

However, the deal won’t be concluded in time for the Old Trafford outfit’s opening fixture of the Premier League campaign against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

As This Is Futbol reported some time ago, Barca want to hold onto the 5 foot 6 attacker until after their UEFA Super Cup clash with Sevilla on August 11th.
