Kevin de Bruyne

According to reports from Mirror Football earlier this week, Wolfsburg have named their price for in-demand attacking midfielder Kevin De Bruyne – a whopping £50million.

The Belgium international struggled to impress during his two years at Chelsea, instead finding himself loaned out to Genk and Werder Bremen.

But he’s proved an absolute revelation since signing for Wolfsburg for an £18million fee in January 2014, finishing last season with 10 goals and 20 assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances – the most set-ups of any player in Europe’s five leading top flights.

Agent Patrick de Koster has already admitted to receiving ‘informal contact‘ from Manchester City regarding the 24 year-old’s availability, despite Wolfsburg CEO Klaus Allofs recently dubbing him ‘unsellable’.

But according to Mirror Football, the German outfit would be willing to part with the attacking midfielder this summer, should their £50million be met.

And The Metro believe that news has thrust local rivals Manchester United back into contention for De Bruyne’s signature. He was linked with an Old Trafford switch earlier this summer, but reports of the Red Devils’ interest have waned since.
