According to reports from The Express this morning, Juventus have turned their attentions to Arsenal’s club record signing Mesut Ozil, following a lack of progress in their pursuit of Chelsea midfielder Oscar.
Reports earlier this week claimed the Premier League champions would be willing to part with the Brazil international for around £42million, which would then free up enough funds to launch a serious bid for Real Madrid’s Isco – having recently seen a £20million offer rejected.
But Juve are hesitant to meet Chelsea’s valuation and have now reportedly turned their attentions to another £42million man; Arsenal’s record signing Mesut Ozil, who joined the club for around that sum in summer 2013.
That’s according to The Express, citing Italian newspaper TuttoSport, who also claim the German World Cup winner holds ‘tactical concerns’ about his role in the Gunners’ starting Xi.
The Italian champions have recently claimed only a ‘phenomenon’ is capable of taking Carlos Tevez’ No.10 shirt following his move to Boca Juniors and the former Real Madrid star certainly fits the bill.
At this point, however, an Arsenal sale seems unlikely.
