Paul Pogba

According to reports from The Express this morning, Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson has urged Juventus to sell star midfielder Paul Pogba this summer.

The former Red Devils boss, who won 13 Premier League titles before retiring two years ago, saw the former Red Devils youngster controversially join the Old Lady on a free transfer in summer 2012 after just seven senior appearances for the Old Trafford outfit.

The France international, however, has since emerged as the most sought-after central midfielder in world football, boasting an eclectic mix of imperious physicality, technical mastery and netting prowess.

After winning four consecutive Serie A titles with Juve and reaching the 2015 Champions League final, the 22 year-old has been strongly linked with a move away from Turin this summer.

In fact, no less than seven top Champions League clubs are believed to be courting his signature; including Premier League contingent Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Man United. Juventus have also confirmed they’ve rejected an €80m bid from Barcelona.

The Juventus hierarchy have insisted they don’t want to sell Pogba this summer, but Ferguson believes now is the right time to cash in.

As quoted by Italian newspaper TuttoSport via The Express, he said; “Yes, I’d sell Pogba. It’s true I already ended up losing him on a free, but now, if I were Juve, I’d sell.”
