According to reports from The Express this morning, Arsenal are ready to activate the £18million release clause of Napoli star Jose Callejon.
The winger-forward boasts an impressive return of 26 goals in 75 Serie A appearances since moving to Italy from Real Madrid in summer 2013, and was the top scorer in the Coppa Italia as the Naples outfit lifted the 2013/14 title.
Last summer, the 28 year-old alleged Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, his former employer at the Bernabeu, was keen to bring him to the Premier League. “I have heard many things about me. I know that Mourinho wants to hire me,” he told E’Azzurro, as quoted by The Daily Star.

The Spain international may well turn up in England this summer but it’s unlikely to be with the Premier League champions.
According to The Express, who cite Italian website Sports Mediaset, London rivals Arsenal are keen to activate Callejon’s £18million release clause.
A departure from Napoli seems likely, following their failure to qualify for the Champions League at the end of last season. But the Gunners face competition from Atletico Madrid for the 5 foot 10 attacker’s signature.
