According to reports from The Daily Mail this morning, Real Madrid boss Rafa Benitez has claimed he’s ‘100%’ certain Sergio Ramos won’t be sold to Manchester United this summer.

The 2010 World Cup winner’s future at the Bernabeu is shrouded in serious doubt after Barcelona presidential candidate Jordi Majo revealed he was offered Ramos as an ‘electoral asset’ for the club’s ballot earlier this month.

Since then, reports have claimed the Spain international is ‘desperate‘ to leave the Bernabeu, leading to a series of bids from Manchester United – the latest being allegedly worth just under £32million.

Reports yesterday revealed the 29 year-old has already agreed to personal terms with the Red Devils and is set to hold crisis talks with Los Blancos president Florentino Perez on the next leg of the La Liga giants’ pre-season tour in China.

But former Chelsea and Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, who was appointed as Carlo Ancelotti’s successor in the Spanish capital earlier this summer, has now insisted Ramos won’t be sold.

Speaking in Melbourne on the club’s pre-season tour, he told reporters; “Sergio Ramos is our player and he is a key player for us. I would like to see him at the beginning of the season playing for us. I think he will be crucial for us during the season.

“I am 100 per cent. I insist it’s clear for me and for the club that Sergio will be here. I have a lot of respect for Louis van Gaal and football is a curious world, but Sergio Ramos will stay with us.”
