According to reports from Mirror Football this morning, Manchester United have tabled a €45million bid for wantaway Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.

The 2010 World Cup winner’s future at the Bernabeu is shrouded in serious doubt following allegations from Barcelona presidential candidate Jordi Majo last month; who claims he was recently offered the centre-back as an ‘electoral asset’ for the club’s ballot on July 18th.

It’s believed to have been a ploy to secure the Spain international a better contract in Madrid but has now lead to a series of bids from Manchester United and interest from their local rivals Manchester City.

Reports earlier this month claimed the 29 year-old is ‘desperate‘ to leave Los Blancos this summer, despite club president Florentino Perez insisting he isn’t for sale during Iker Casillas’ farewell ceremony at the Bernabeu on Monday.

“There are players on contract that the club does not want to let go and are not going to leave,” he said.

According to Mirror Football, that hasn’t nullified Man United’s interest and they’ve now launched a €45million bid, which converts to just shy of £32million.

However, it’s believed Real Madrid’s valuation is around twice that sum, a whopping €90million.
