According to reports from The Daily Star this morning, Manchester United are willing to part with club-record signing Angel Di Maria this summer for just £43million.

The Argentina international arrived at Old Trafford last summer for a whopping £59.7million, making him the most expensive signing in both Red Devils and Premier League history.

His United tenure started well with a spate of match-winning performances – typified by his deft lob against Leicester City, which won the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award for September.

But the 27 year-old struggled more as the season went on and eventually found himself benched by manager Louis van Gaal. He didn’t make a league start after United’s clash with Newcastle in early March.

Arsenal have emerged as surprise suitors of Di Maria’s, with Arsene Wenger allegedly a huge fan of the former Champions League winner.

So today’s reports from The Star will be music to the Gunners gaffer’s ears. Citing French newspaper Le Parisien, they claim United would be prepared to sell the midfielder this summer for £43million – incurring a £17million loss on their original investment.

That, however, is in regards to a move to PSG, who tried to sign Di Maria twelve months ago only to find their efforts blunted by Financial Fair Play regulations. Whether the Red Devils would sell to a direct title rival for the same price remains to be seen.

Di Maria should be retained as he will prove his worth. However, even if he is sold he should not be sold to any main premier league rivals. MU must get other midfield stars before deciding any move. If Bayern is interested for swap deal with Muller, MU may consider.

The direction Man United is going in decesion making is wrong. They should not have sold RVP and now want to sell Dimaria.Remember they left Falcao to go and Chelsea were very wise to sign him.Let me say the problem is the Coach not players. To say the truth, these players are going to perform well in the new clubs.

Utd should not be stupid enough to part ways with Angel Di Maria even for £100m. I said initially that both LVG and Ed Woodward came to Utd to ruin the club not to help. We should count the number of players that have left the club and in return how many are in?
Di Maria is a great player who can transform the game at anytime..he needs all the time to settle. For him to be sold fie God sake not as cheap as £43…loosing a whooping £17m on him which can sign another player. What a joke from Ed Woodward and LVG.
