Stefan Savic

According to reports from The Express yesterday afternoon, Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all targeting former Manchester City defender Stefan Savic.

The Montenegro international lasted just one campaign and eleven Premier League appearances at the Etihad, signed from Partizan for £6million in summer 2011 and swapped with Fiorentina’s Matija Nastasic twelve months later – although he did pick up a Premier League winner’s medal at Man United’s expense.

But the 24 year-old has since emerged as one of the more impressive centre-backs in Serie A, last season helping Viola finish fourth in the top flight and reach the semi-finals of the Europa League, which has convinced Arsenal, Liverpool and United to offer him a shock Premier League return.

According to The Express, Manchester United have particularly expressed an interest in the 6 foot 2 defender, amid their rather arduous pursuits of La Liga centre-backs Nicolas Otamendi and Sergio Ramos. Real Madrid allegedly value the latter at a rather incredible €90million.

Savic, on the other hand, would set the Red Devils back just £15million – but he’s also being billed as Joao Miranda’s replacement at Atletico Madrid.
