Arturo Vidal

According to reports from The Express yesterday evening, Bayern Munich are hoping to replace Bastian Schweinsteiger with long-term Arsenal and Manchester United target Arturo Vidal.

The Chile international has emerged as one of the most complete centre-mids in world football since joining Juventus from Bayer Leverkusen in summer 2011, last season bagging seven goals and four assists in 28 Serie A appearances whilst averaging 3.1 tackles and 1.3 created chances per match.

In that time, he’s lifted four consecutive Serie A titles and reached the 2015 Champions League final.

The 28 year-old came close to joining Manchester United last summer and has recently been linked with a move to Arsenal, whilst reports earlier this month claimed he’d reached an agreement with Real Madrid.

But according to The Express, Vidal is now a priority target for Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, who view him as the perfect replacement for now-Manchester United star Bastian Schweinsteiger. The German World Cup winner completed an Old Trafford move on Monday after 17 years at the Allianz Arena.

However, there is still some dispute over the 5 foot 11 midfielder’s price tag. Bayern have offered £21million, but Juve value him closer to £32million.
