According to reports from London 24 this morning, Arsenal and Manchester United have ‘no chance whatsoever’ of signing Real Madrid star Karim Benzema this summer.

The 27 year-old boasts 133 goals in 281 appearances for the Bernabeu outfit and has claimed a La Liga title, a Champions League title and two Copa del Reys since arriving in the Spanish capital from Lyon in 2009.

Recent reports have claimed his spell in the Spanish capital could come to an abrupt end this summer, with new Bernabeu boss Rafa Benitez intending to utilise Cristiano Ronaldo as a lone centre-forward next season.

That’s lead to reports of interest from Manchester United, whilst Arsenal have already seen a £32million bid rejected.

But last week Benzema’s agent, Karim Djaziri, told Sky Sports’ Bryan Swanson that the France international would ‘1000%’ remain a Real Madrid player by the end of the transfer window and La Liga correspondent Guillem Balage has now further enforced that claim.

The Spanish journalist is famed for his insider knowledge – tipping Diego Costa for a Chelsea move months before he officially arrived at Stamford Bridge – and tweeted earlier this morning; “For those asking: no chance whatsoever of Benzema leaving Real Madrid this summer (so no way he will go to Arsenal).”
