In - Karim Benzema

According to reports from The Daily Mail this morning, Manchester United are preparing a £30million bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema.

he France international boasts 133 goals in 281 appearances for Los Blancos, helping them to a La Liga title, two Copa del Reys and the 2014 Champions League title since moving to the Bernabeu from Lyon in 2009.

But as This Is Futbol revealed last month, the Spanish giants are reportedly looking to cash in on the 6 foot 2 forward this summer. At 27 years of age and with four years remaining on his current contract, they view the coming window as the ideal time to sell.

Claims from The Daily Mail add further substance to that theory; as they reported on Friday, incoming manager Rafa Benitez intends to utilise three-time Ballon D’or winner Cristiano Ronaldo as a centre-forward.

As This Is Futbol revealed in May, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger recently failed to rule out a £40million bid for Benzema, whilst reports earlier this week claimed Manchester United’s representatives had met the striker’s agent, Karim Djazin, to try and thrash out a deal.

And The Daily Mail now claim Manchester United will launch a £30million bid for the rumoured Arsenal target.
