Paul Pogba

According to reports from The Express this afternoon, PSG are preparing one final bid for Juventus star Paul Pogba.

The former Manchester United youngster has emerged as one of the most complete central midfielders in world football since swapping Old Trafford for the Old Lady in summer 2012, boasting an eclectic mix of imperious physicality, technical ability and netting prowess.

After claiming three consecutive Serie A titles with the Turin outfit and reaching this season’s Champions League final, a host of Europe’s top clubs are hoping the 22 year-old will decide to pursue a new challenge this summer.

As This Is Futbol revealed in May, no less than seven clubs are believed to be targeting the France international, including the French champions, Premier League kings Chelsea and former club Manchester United.

Pogba is already believed to have rejected a contract offer from PSG worth £210k per-week, although neither the Paris outfit nor Juventus had agreed on a fee.

But PSG are now preparing a final push for the midfielder’s services with a £65million bid – which The Express claim is £7million higher than a prior offer made by Barcelona.

It’s certainly in the right ballpark, with Italian journalist Ghilda Pensante recently claiming Juve would be prepared to sell for around £58million.

As quoted by The Express, however, club executive Guiseppe Marotta has recently claimed: “I reiterate we don’t want to sell Pogba and he has said today that he doesn’t want to leave.

“Pogba is a player that has been requested by several clubs but we have not entered in any negotiation because we consider him strategic to our project,” he added.
